Playing for Success

STUDY SUPPORT PROGRAMME – 15 PUPILS – 21 HOURS – £1250 – TRANSPORT INCLUDED

The Playing for Success programme uses the medium and environment of sport to raise pupil standards in literacy, numeracy and ICT as well as building self-esteem and self-confidence. The programme provides selected 9 to 14 year-old pupils with access to an out-of-school-hours study experience that not only builds confidence and motivation, but also positively dovetails with personalised learning goals set in school. An induction day to the centre followed by seven two-hour sessions spread over consecutive weeks enable pupils to participate in various activities which not only contribute to the Every Child Matters agenda, the SEAL targets but also reinforce National Curriculum standards. Achievement throughout study support sessions is celebrated with a end-of-term presentation evening attended by Saints players and Bernie the Saints Mascot.
