The purpose of the Study Centre is to support schools in improving the life chances of children through developing each student’s motivation and confidence, by improving their personal and social skills and attitudes to learning. The centre will assist young people to become more effective learners focusing on numeracy, literacy and information and communication technology (ICT) in a sporting context. The centre promotes the value of learning and that it is ‘cool to succeed’. This is done through the Playing for Success programme and by developing the day time use at the centre.
