National Recognition

  • Quality in Study Support- The QiSS Recognition Scheme is an integral part of the drive to promote quality in study support. It provides public recognition that the standards embodied in the Codes of Practice are being met. They base their approach to quality assurance on self-evaluation and peer scrutiny, using key indicators set out in the Codes of Practice for Study Support.

The Saints Study Centre achieved Emerged status in March 2007 and recently went up to the next level -Established Status at a recognition meeting in April 2009 at West Ham United.

  • Mentoring and Befriending- The Approved Provider Standard is a national quality award for organisations providing mentoring and befriending.  It is promoted and administered by the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation on behalf of the Government through the Cabinet Office and is endorsed by the Department for Education and Skills. It ensures the organisation is operating in a safe and effective manner and gives increased public confidence in the mentoring/ befriending programme.

The Saints Study Centre achieved this status in May 2008 assuring that we are operating to a nationally approved benchmark of quality and safe practice.

  • Engagement and Active Involvement Strategy- Here at the Saints Study Centre we have recently been awarded the Bronze level in  the Active Involvement Charter Mark Award. This measures to what extent and how meaningfully we involve children and young people in our organisation. This award has been written to enable organisations who are members of The Northamptonshire Children and Young People’s Partnership, like us, to demonstrate that they actively involve children and young people in making important decisions and shaping the services that they receive.  Part of this accreditation involves making all our children and young people aware of the Charter of Involvement. So here goes!

The Charter is made up of seven sections: shared values, strategies, structures, systems, staff, skills and knowledge and style of leadership.
