Yesterday saw Spring Lane Primary School’s first day of our Easter programme. The children had their photos taken with the Saints mascot Bernie and started the day on the computers by making name badges with their photos on. They were then taken out for a practical tag rugby session where they had an hour of rugby coaching, working together in teams, playing various games. After lunch we were joined by Kevin Burke, Northampton’s official jester, who taught the children circus skills. They took to it straight away and began trying out plate spinning, stilt walking, juggling, and using the diabolo and poi, practising their favourite circus activity to show to everyone as a performance for the finale. At the end of the day the students made a postcard of their day on the computers on Powerpoint, putting on photos from each activity as a memento of their time so far at the Saints Study Centre.
